RMVLL Umpire Training (only RMVLL parents and kids)
RMVLL will be holding a condensed umpiring clinic on Saturday, February 9, from 8 am to 9:30am on the AA field. This is for youth umpires that were not able to attend the District clinic and any youth or adult umpires that would like a refresher. No need to sign up, just show up. Be on time as we will start promptly at 8am.

Our goal is to give every umpire the tools they need to be successful and progress to umpiring higher level games. District 68 provides extensive training for all of our volunteer umpires in the form of classroom rules clinics, on-field mechanics clinics, and online resources. Listed above are upcoming scheduled clinics. In addition, during the season if you are interested in receiving in-season mentoring or an evaluation, please email the Chief Umpire

Junior Umpire Program

The Junior Umpire program is open to anyone aged 11 through 17 and provides a great baseball and leadership experience for our youth. Anyone interested should email the Chief Umpire. See below for a brief program overview.

All Junior Umpires MUST attend the District 68 Junior Umpire Clinic
Mentoring available during the season to enhance your umpire skills
Get a snack bar meal and get paid for every game umpired!
Earn service hours for High School or other organizations
Most Junior Umpires will work Single A division games. Experienced Junior Umpires will be approved to work games at higher divisions

Please make sure to review the specific rules for the Division you are umpiring - the Single A and Double A divisions in particular have several modifications to the official Green Book Rules.

A well dressed umpire creates a good first impression and projects the confidence and respect that can help make a game go smoothly. It is recommended (strongly recommended for Major and higher games) that you wear grey slacks and black athletic shoes which can generally be found cheaply at local stores. RMVLL will provide every umpire with a navy blue umpire shirt and hat. The umpire storage bin has chest protectors, masks, shinguards, indicators, and brushes. Please return these items to the storage bin after each game and make sure you lock the bin!
